Collaring the Stray Animals
Objective
of the programme:
To tie reflective bands for stray dog tags so that people driving at night can identify
dogs from a distance and accidents can be prevented.
Brief write up on the programme:
Dhatri Patra an NGO that was
registered on 1st January 2022 took an initiation to tie reflective
collars for stray dogs to save them from accidents that occur during the night
. A minimum number of stray dogs are getting hit by vehicles , especially
during the night .
The NGO tags stray dogs with reflective collars so that people
driving at night can identify animals from a distance and accidents can be
prevented. Collars are made of lightweight material and are safe for animals.
They would help people driving at night to identify animals from distance.
Our NGO with the help of 11 volunteers took this initiative of tying reflective
bands for 20dogs . We started tying dog collars from Hebbal then reached
streets of K Narayanpura and Kothanur . We fed them biscuits to gain their
trust and belief and enjoyed feeding and typing bands on them .
Later, after the activity was done
we had been to a nearby slum where we cut cake to celebrate our success in
registering our NGO with the slum kids and others . Thus we completed our 1st
activity with a sense of satisfaction .
